Hi, I’m Derek. I’m a computer programmer and system admin of many years.

I got in to programming at a young age starting with BASIC. Over the years I have worked in C, PHP, Java, JavaScript, and CSharp to name the main languages.

I have been interested in Linux and system admin since building and installing my first PC in 1996 running Slackware. For most of my 25+ years with Linux I have been a user of Debian Linux and use it for all the systems I own myself plus most of the ones I maintain professionally as well.
