I really enjoy photography. It's something I have been interested in for years. Only recently, in 2008, did I go ahead and get a Canon 40D SLR to play with. I know many people will say that a good camera isn't everything, it's being able to be in the right place at the right time to get the shot that matter. I do find though that it's made it easier to get pictures that, to me at least, are just what I wanted to capture. Prior to that I had a Canon S30 and became increasinly frustrated by missing the shots I wanted to take. The whole 'shutter-lag' thing and waiting for the thing to focus got old so the reaction speed possible with the SLR is very welcome.
I'm certainly not very 'arty' with my pictures. I primarily take them for snapshots of memories. Some of them I have here on the website to share.
Video
I enjoy using my video camera and have begun trying to master Adobe Premier so I can finally do something with the MiniDV footage I've recorded over the years since Josh was born. One thing I've found with video is it requires a lot more work in getting good results than still photography.
