Music

I have fairly differing tastes in music and it depends a lot on my mood as to what exactly I listen to. I can go from wanting to listen to some rock music to very mellow and relaxing music. Basically I like about anything and everything (as long as it's not rap). 80s rap was fun, but the stuff these days makes me cringe. I do like country music too, which has progressed into something similar to what I'd consider 'pop' music from when I grew up.

OGG

I have turned all my CDs into OGG files now, so I can play them. The OGG format, while not as commonly supported as MP3, does a better job of encoding the music for a given bit-rate. It is also patent-free too, which makes it suitable for open source projects as there are no legal problems in supporting OGG encoders.

A favorite program of mine is 'Grip', which allows a very automated CD encoding solution. Using this program and 2 CD/DVD drives I was able to encode all my discs very easily.
